Wicked Birmingham | Jefferson Civic Center Concert Hall

Wicked presents the untold story of The Wizard of Oz, taking a fantasy journey through the unseen part of Oz, along with The Emerald City and The Yellow Brick Road.

Wicked brings back the story of the two famous witches from Oz – Glinda and Elphaba (The Good Witch and The Wicked Witch of the West) in a time where there was no Dorothy or Toto.

The two witches form a surprisingly friendship relationship after they meet at The University of Shiz and turn from enemies to best friends, bringing along a strong female-empowerment attitude into their actions.

Wicked is a representation of love, power, aspirations and achievements, as outlined by Gregory Maguire’s novel of the same name, bringing forth a friendship that will survive through time.

Joe Mantello handles the play’s direction , while Stephen Schwartz is responsible for the score. The creative team for Wicked also includes a book by Winnie Holzman and a production by Marc Platt, David Stone and Jon B. Platt.
This record-breaking hit of the decade features a long list of smash hits, including Stephen Schwartz’ original songs, such as Defying Gravity, Popular and As Long As You’re Mine.

Birmingham’s Jefferson Civic Center Concert Hall will be hosting this wonderful musical starting with June 22 to July 3, 2016. Make sure you are a part of this exciting journey through Oz, during this limited engagement.
