Mila Kunis to Play Wicked Witch of the West in Film Prequel?

Undoubtedly, Mila Kunis played a villain in “Black Swan,” but that’s nothing compared to what she may be doing for her next part. Kunis is currently discussing the role of the Wicked Witch of the West in the future prequel, “Oz, the Great and Powerful.”

Based on information from Vulture, the prequel will discuss the histories of Glinda the Good Witch and the Wizard, two of the heroes in the story, and will provide some critical details about Evanorah, the Wicked Witch of the East. This character has a relatively minor role in the original story because Dorothy’s house lands on top of her.

Kunis, who has been nominated for a Golden Globe, is slated to play the part of Theodorah, who is Evanorah’s sister. Theodorah eventually becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, who is out to destroy Dorothy in the original story.

The Wizard was supposed to be played by Robert Downey Jr., but he declined to keep the role. According to Vulture, James Franco could be next in line, especially now that Kunis has agreed to her part.

This movie is supposed to start production in July.
