Mark Evans Takes on Role of Fiyero on West End

Starting on February 7, 2011, Mark Evans will be joining the “Wicked” London production. He will play Fiyero opposite Louise Dearman playing Glinda and Rachel Tucker playing Elphaba. The cast also includes Julian Forsyth playing Doctor Dillamond, Clive Carter playing The Wizard and Julie Legrand playing Madame Morrible.

Evans since March 2010 has been part of a UK “Oklahoma!” tour with Marti Webb starring as Curly. In 2009 Evans was a finalist on BBC1’s “Eurovision- Your Country Needs You.” He will soon start filming a Welsh television children series. Other credits for Evans include appearances in the “Wicked” 2007 London Cast, UK tours of “Seven Brides For Seven Brothers” and “The Rocky Horror Show,” and Hammersmith Apollo’s “High School Musical.”

Based on Gregory Maguire’s acclaimed novel that re-imagined L. Frank Baum’s characters and stories, “Wicked” tell the untold incredible story of a profound but unlikely friendship of two girls who meet first as sorcery students. The adventures the two girls have in Oz sees them ultimately fulfilling their destinies as Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

The “Wicked” spring cast is rounded out with Sarah Earnshaw as the Glinda Standby, Nikki Davis-Jones as the Elphaba Standby, along with Sam Wilmott, Jack Wilcox, Stevie Tate-Bauer, Hannah Toy, Jennifer Tierney, Thomas Sutcliffe, Tommy Sherlock, Niall Sheehy, Paul Saunders, Michelle Pentecost, Soeli Parry, Sean Parkins, Sauri Oda, Lucy Newton, Danny Mac, Sophie Linder-Lee, Matt Krzan, Jasmine Kerr, Daniel Jones, Shirley Jameson, Lauren James Ray, Emma Green, Joe Colasanti, Gareth Chart, Lewis Bradley, and Alex Louize Bird.
