The immensely “Popular” Wicked is coming to Oklahoma as Celebrity Attractions brings yet another certified Broadway hit to the Civic Center Music Hall this September.

Stephen Schwartz has set to music yet another instant classic as the story of a misunderstood green girl named Elphaba and an overly ambitious blonde girl who comes to be known as “Glinda the Good” is told in this twisted, magical world that turns the original story penned by Frank L. Baum on it’s heels. Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz is based on the original novel by Greg Maguire which expands the universe we have known from childhood stories and movies, and tells us what really happened before a little girl from Kansas set down the path of that Yellow Brick Road.

Don’t miss this limited run of Wicked at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma. The Ozians will be in town from September 4 through 22, 2013 only so grab your tickets before those flying monkeys do!

You definitely won’t be in Kansas anymore when Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz takes over the Kansas City Music Hall this October.

In the halls of Shiz University in the magical land of Oz, there were two young girls who could not be any more different from each other. Elphaba is the outcast child of the Governor of Munchin land with the unusual distinction of having green skin and a fiery attitude. Galinda is the ambitious, popular, and over-achieving blonde girl from the land to the North who will let nothing get in her way. Although they initially loathe each others existence, they come to form a bond of a friendship so powerful that nothing in all of Oz can break.

Wicked first played in Kansas in 2009 and now the Witches of Oz are back by “Popular” demand to capture your hearts once again. Broadway Across America presents Wicked at the Kansas City Music Hall from October 7 through 27, 2013. Performance times will be announced shortly so get your tickets before the Flying Monkeys beat you to them!

Wicked followers should watch out for the new pair that will give Oz a refreshing look. The first leg of the renowned musical’s tour in North America will star two Broadway veterans: Jenn Gambatese, who’ll be joining the cast as Glinda on February 26 in Costa Mesa, CA and Curt Hansen, playing Fiyero will later join the production in Tucson, AZ on March 20.

The two additions to Wicked’s touring cast are no newbies in the scene. In fact Gambatese was in Encores! revival of Fiorello when it was staged in New York recently. She was also in Broadway’s Hairspray, Tarzan, All Shook Up, Footloose, A Year with Frog and Toad and Is He Dead? Her regional credits include Annie Get Your Gun, Carousel and Lips Together Teeth Apart. Hansen, also a Hairspray cast, appeared in other musicals including the Broadway production and first national tour of Next to Normal, Parade in Los Angeles, and Girlfriend in Louisville. He also had his share of TV presence through Big Time Rush and The Good Wife.

The stellar performers whom Gambatese and Hansen will join in Oz are Tom McGowan (The Wizard), Dee Roscioli (Elphaba), Laurel Harris (Elphaba standby), Kim Zimmer (Madame Morrible), Clifton Davis (Dr. Dillamond), Demaree Hill (Nessarose) and Justin Brill (Boq).

Wicked is the classic The Wizard of Oz retold in different light. The musical is conveyed from the perspective of the witches of Oz. It explores the untold stories of the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba and her friend Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. The musical, with its Grammy-winning songs like “Defying Gravity”, “The Wizard and I,” and “Popular,” delves on how the green-skinned Elphaba turned into a “wicked witch”.

Be ready to fly with the witches of Oz when they return this October. The hit Broadway production Wicked will make their comeback to Chicago as part of celebrating its 10th year anniversary.

Wicked is a musical adaptation of the 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire. The music and lyrics of the musical by Stephen Schwartz, tells the tale of the two witches of Oz who are friends but struggle through their differences and their love for the same man.

Having earned $2.9 billion in ticket sales in the final week of 2012 on its Broadway production, Wicked is considered one of the most lucrative musicals. During its first visit in Chicago on 2005, Wicked’s engagement was supposedly limited but the show ran 1,500 performances and ended production on January 25, 2009.

Wicked will be staged at the Oriental Theatre where it was first presented in Chicago some eight years ago. However, be advised that unlike its previous open-ended runs in Chicago, they’ll be having a limited eight-week run only from Oct. 30-Dec. 21.

South Bend, prepare for a one-of-a-kind Broadway magic with the two-week run of Wicked, the untold tale of The Land of Oz’s witches, at the Morris Performing Arts Center on May 8 to 19, 2013.

Wicked presents a story parallel to the timeless The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and clearly illustrates that there are more than one side in every story. This tale, which is a social, ethical, and political commentary on the true nature of what is good and evil, centers on the smart and fiery Elphaba and how she became the much-reviled Wicked Witch of the West. This powerful and provocative look at a well loved classic will change the way its South Bend audience will appreciate the tale of Dorothy and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Catch the Wicked performances at the Morris Performing Arts Center at 7:30 PM from Tuesday to Friday. The weekend show times are at 2 PM and 8 PM every Saturday and at 2 PM and 7 PM every Sunday.

Louise Dearman is moving from good witch into bad withc. This fall the actress will be making history when she assumes the role of Elphaba, the green-skinned witch, in “Wicked” at Apollos Victoria Theatre in the West End starting October 29, 2012. Previously Dearman played the role of Glinda in this alternate Oz story. Dearman will become the first actress who has performed both “Wicked” starring roles over the course of the almost ten year history in the import Broadway musical.

Dearman said, as actresses we strive to challenge outselves to perform in as many different roles as we can throughout our careers. I feel right now like I am the luckiest woman in musical theatre history. I can’t believe I will be in “Wicked” again in two months. However this time I will not be coming and going via the Bubble. Instead I will be riding a broomstick.

Michael McCabe, UK executive producer, said, audiences already know, after her outstanding performance as Glinda, that Louise has incredible acting abilities and a stunning voice. We genuinely are exciting about her returning as Elphaba in “Wicked.” We’ve been in awe with how Louise has been able to channel her amazing talent to perform this iconic role. I’m absolutely confindent that audiences will also be as thrilled as we are.

In addition to Wicked’s Glinda, the the main musical theater roles for Dearman have included Evita’s Eva Person, Cats’ Grizabella and Guys and Dolls’ Sarah Brown. Dearman has also released two albums, which includes the recent release of “Here Comes The Sun.”

“Wicked” had its Broadway opening in October 2003 and premiered on the West End at Apollo Victoria Theatre in 2006, where to date it has been viewed by more than 4.5 million theater goers. The musical tells the Glinda and Elphaba’s untold story from the land of Oz. Winnie Holtzman wrote the book for the musical based on the novel by Gregory MacGuire. Joe Mantello isthe director and lyrics and music are from Stephen Schwartz.

The London company currently is led by Rachael Tucker played Elphaba, Gina Beck in the role or Glinda and Fiyero portrayed by Matt Willis.
