Alli Mauzey, Andy Kelso Join Wicked Tour February 24

The current national tour of the Tony winning musical ‘Wicked’ will feature a new Glinda and Fiyero starting February 24 when the show stops over at Tempe, AZ.

Joining the touring cast are Alli Mauzey and Andy Kelso. Mauzey will be playing Glinda, a role with which she is very familiar as she has played the character in the musical’s Broadway and San Francisco productions. Her other credits include the role of Lenora in ‘Cry-Baby’ and Brenda in ‘Hairspray’. Kelso on the other hand will be playing the role of Fiyero for the first time. His credits include regional mountings of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’, ‘Footloose’, ‘Rent’ and Broadway’s ‘Mamma Mia’, which marked his debut in the Great White Way.

The touring cast is currently comprised of Mamie Parris as Elphaba, Mark Jacoby playing the role of The Wizard, Emily Ferranti as Nessarose and Liz McCartney as Madame Morrible. ‘Wicked’ chronicles the life and times of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. Known in Oz for her emerald skin, outspoken and fiery nature, and her somewhat unlikely friendship with Glinda the Good Witch of the North, Elphaba’s story shines a light on her life as a young girl on her way to realizing her destiny as a witch, a revelation that could either further cement her notoriety or cast away all negative impressions about her. The musical features the award winning compositions of Stephen Schwartz which include ‘The Wizard and I’, ‘Popular’ and the ever favorite, ‘Defying Gravity’.
