Beginning with performances starting on January 12, Wicked’s Broadway production will have a new Glinda. Katie Rose Clark will be taking over the role. In addition, beginning on January Jenny Fellner will be the new Nessarose.

Cleveland Woman Tries to Rattle Wicked Understudy
Merideth Kaye Clark began as an understudy. However what she came back as was one tough cookie. What could have been a show biz disaster instead turned into a beautiful moment of theater where the 2,700 members in the audience and actors onstage shared in something, said Clark, recalling the experience on Wednesday. According to Steve Quinn, tour manager for Wicked, on Thursday night at State Theatre located at Playhouse Square during the middle of the quietest part of the enormously popular Broadway tour, an obscenity filled, drunken bawl started to break out from the audience.
Wicked’s Idina Menzel Joins the Cast of ‘Glee’
Idina Menzel, Broadway star, is currently in negotiations for joining “Glee,” the series on Fox, to be a recurring character. The character of Menzel will be the glee club coach for Vocal Adrenaline, the main competitor to the glee club of McKinley High. Menzel is expected to have appearances in all the nine remaining episodes this season.
Wicked Tour Signs on New Wizard and Bog
The company for Wicked’s second tour of North America is welcoming Zach Hanna playing Boq and Don Amendolia playing the Wizard in Schenectady, NY on December 9. The Broadway credits of Amendolia include My One and Only and Stepping Out. He also appeared in The Firebugs, Cloud Nine (as part of the original cast), Dedication and Some Men on Broadway. He is also a stage director as well as film and television actor. Hanna has appeared in Altar Boyz as Mark Off-Broadway and also in national tours for Altar Boyz and Copacabana playing Tony. His regional credits include Tommy by the Who where he played Tommy, Convenience in the role of Ethan, Baby where he played Danny and Jesus Chris Superstar in the role of Annas.
Wicked Posts Highest Broadway Gross Ever
Wicked, the wildly popular musical that has been on Broadway for seven years now, has became the first show in the history of Broadway to gross over $2 million in one week of performances. During the week that ended November 29, the show earned $2,086,135. Its previous record was $1,839,950 that was set the week that ended on December 30, 2007. In addition, the show had 14,472 in total attendance for the eight performance week.
Wicked Storms the Proctors Stage in Schenectady
When he saw Wicked’s first reading, David Stone cried. That is when he knew that he wanted to back the show with his money behind it. David Stone, along with Marc Platt his business partner, is one of Wicked’s producers. The enormously successful and popular Broadway musical is coming to Proctors and staying for almost a month. Shows begin on Wednesday.
